Meet Diane Roy LL.B.

A business lawyer, commercial mediator accredited by the Québec Bar and trademark agent certified by the Canadian Intellectual Property Office, I provide SMEs with legal advice and services focused on protecting their interests and designed to promote their growth.

A graduate of the University of Montreal, I was admitted into the Québec Bar in 1984 after an internship at McCarthy Tétrault, a major law firm in Montreal. I spent the first years of my career in legal publishing, teaching corporate law and designing corporate documents and books (the so-called "minute books").

An entrepreneur at heart, I owned my own business and then joined the legal department of Mega Brands, a world-renowned toy manufacturer that was recently acquired by Mattel. I was then involved in international trade and managed cases with external legal advisors in North America, Europe and Asia. I have thus worked in all areas of business, from human resources to shipping, product design and marketing, and I have managed corporate affairs of divisions and international subsidiaries.

I now run my own firm, incorporated under the name CABINET PROFESSIONNEL DIANE ROY INC. I provide support to companies, from their establishment and throughout their growth, based on a professional, proactive approach that is entirely devoted to my clients' interests.

Ready to do business internationally

The firm recently received WEConnect International certification, an official guarantee given to companies that acquire products and services from businesses run by women and that meet international standards for Women's Business Enterprises (WBEs).  This certification provides the firm with access to many potential international business contacts.

Convinced that a strong professional network is a definite advantage to better serving my clients, I am also a member of the Worldwide Association of Female Professionals, whose mission is to advance and promote female business leadership by connecting women industry leaders with one another.
